MONETARY SYSTEM OF A PURE QUETZAL FEATHERS STANDARD. (English).

A friend is surprised to know that quetzales, a national symbol of our country, Guatemala, are living captive in some parts of the world; specially since our elementary schools, children are taught that when the quetzal is captive, die, due lack of freedom. And also has added, as if it were a real historical event, the legend that when Mr. Tecum Uman was killed in combat by Mr. Pedro de Alvarado, quetzal that had flown above him (because was his "nahual"), instantly died on his chest, explaining the red color that looks at the bird's chest. The legend says that it was the signal for the Quiché people, that freedom had ended, and slavery would come.

It's a myth that quetzales can not live in captivity. But it isn't a myth that captives quetzales are not reproduced. The captives need very special care conditions, which if not strictly observed, cause their death, especially due to inadequate diet, which is often contaminated by handling. This bird, so delicate, beautiful and very, very, very special, eats insects, especially fruits, "directly from the trees" . Moreover, their habitat requires special conditions of humidity, it does not drink any kind of water, "it must be filtered water" by plants, the exudate from the leaves of the trees where they live. Just, let imagine what happens if it gets to drink, purified water with ozone or silver or the worst, purified with chlorine.

Mr. Bernal Diaz del Castillo, wrote in his epic book, that he saw how Mr. Moctezuma had zoos with quetzales, to which he had extracted a couple of feather on time to time, which were used as "real currency". Whom dared to enter into that area, was punished with death. Hence, much of the treasure of Mr. Moctezuma derived from taxes paid by the peoples conquered by the Aztecs over many centuries, that was enclosed in a huge dome that served as the treasury chamber of the empire, included a great amount of gold, but there were abundance of other currencies as a reserve of value, such as quetzal feathers , cocoa seeds and salt in big quantities, which I insist, were other currencies. Bernal Diaz wrote that the human eye couldn't never see a fabulous fortune in his life, gathered in one space.

So big amount of feathers, would have generated inflation, due expansionary money supply shock in quetzal feathers in Mexico in those days; hence the death penalty was intended to protect elements of the Aztec monetary system. Mr. Bernal Díaz showed the depth of knowledge of economic laws that the inhabitants of pre-Columbian America had.

Today it is easier to deliver a good stream of dollars or euros; but we can't get a quetzal feather, hence that is sure that a feather of this beautiful bird, has higher value and thus higher price, than at the time of Mr. Moctezuma, Mr. Hernando Cortes, Mr. Pedro de Alvarado. and Mr. Bernal Diaz del Castillo. Monetary authorities have taken on deaf ears the ancient wisdom of Eastern, Western and Precolonial America.

A jest, to the President of the Federal Reserve System and the other Presidents of the Central Banks of the world, should be anchoring the monetary system of the United States and all countries on the quetzal feathers standard. In a more serious sense, the world should return to the gold standard or at least stop manipulating the amount of existing money to help with healing of the world's ills in the crisis of today.
